Sunday School
The Sunday School program runs throughout the school year and provides classes for ages preschool through middle school during the regular Sunday Morning Church Service. All children are welcome in our program.
The Christian Education Committee is responsible for the educational ministry of the Church. By working with the minister and the Sunday School Superintendent, the Committee is responsible for facilitating the understanding and value of a Christian education and providing for its programming. One of the biggest parts of CE is to oversee the Sunday School Superintendent and the Sunday School, whose mission is to teach what it means to be part of a Church community, to provide a mission or service to the greater world and to be a good Christian in everyday life.

Confirmation
Confirmation is held every year, or as needed at First Congregational Church for high school students who are 9th grade and above. Classes begin in the fall and end in the spring.
Our philosophy and approach with Confirmation is focused on experiential learning and seeking an understanding of faith through Christ, the Bible, Church history, and youth fellowship. Confirmands participate in regularly held Sunday classes and occasional other activities. Confirmands are invited to participate in creating and leading worship, attending different churches/congregations, and helping out with special church services throughout the year. Confirmands are invited to join as members of First Congregational Church at a special ceremony on the Day of Pentecost.
While the intent of Confirmation is to affirm an individual's baptismal promise made by their parents to raise their child in the Christian faith (those not baptized at the time of Confirmation will have the choice to be baptized before being confirmed), the teens meet with their parents and the Pastor to make their individual choice if they are ready to make the committment to join the church. In all, we hope to instill a sense of the wonder of God, a foundational understanding of the Bible and the life of Christ, and a willingness to be open and aware of the presence of the Holy Spirit.
First Congregational Church's confirmation program seeks to offer a sacred and safe space to question and grow in one's faith.

Shake It Up Cafe: Where Kids Carry Out God's Recipes
August 8 - 12, 2011 8 am - 12 noon
Shake It Up Cafe is an interactive , energizing, bible-based program that gives children a recipe for living out God's Word.
Set in an exciting restaurant and kitchen environment, this curriculum offers your children opportunities to celebrate biblical festivals from the Old Testament and the New Testament. These exciting and engaging celebrations will inspire your chefs to develop life-changing habits as they grow and become followers of God.
This is the 15th year of our successful VBB program. Each year is a different theme. We encourage tweens/teens to volunteer their time to help support the program and show our younger chefs their way around the food festivals. Adults also volunteer to help present a rounded program of 'Kitchen a la King'(bible stories told by character), 'Tangy & Tarts Arts( food themed crafts), 'Wok & Roll Hits'(music learned with and by sign language), 'Spork Sports'(games), 'Foodology Factory9 simple science experiments), 'Takeout Treatery'(snacks) and 'Shake It Up Cafe'(opening and closing assembly).
The program is chosen and organized by the director, Donna Wall, with the support of the Christian Education Committee. Registration and information can be obtained by calling the Church office at 781-438-0097. The cost is $50 per child. If a older sibling or parent volunteers, the first child is free. Scholarships are available if you cannot afford the tuition. The program is open to all children!
