Stoneham Classical Concert Series starting February 13th
First Church to host Stoneham Classical Concerts
Six Chamber Music Concerts on Saturday evenings at 7 p.m.
We are happy to announce that we will present a new classical concerts program at First Congregational Church. Titled Stoneham Classical 2016, the concerts will be led by concert pianist Tudor M. Bota, and will be performed on Saturday evenings in the sanctuary at 7 p.m.
The Stoneham Classical 2016 series kicks off on Valentine’s Eve, Saturday, Feb. 13, with a concert featuring “Romantic Vibes.” Performers include Mr. Emil Lancea, clarinetist, Ms. Roselin Osser, mezzo-soprano and Mr. Tudor M. Bota, pianist, who will perform a variety of musical selections from Mozart to Bernstein.
“We are very excited to bring this classical music venue to Stoneham,” Mr. Bota said. “It will complement the beautiful music, including the Christmas and Easter cantatas, offered by First Church’s music department.”
Joyce Simpson, First Church music director, added: “We look forward to bringing new musical expressions to our church and our community. And we hope our members and friends, and their children, will enjoy these concerts.”
Stoneham Classical 2016 is supported by a grant from MELD, a local arts and education organization, dedicated to promoting the arts and education in our town.
Concert planners are reaching out to Stoneham schools, public and parochial, to engage young people in the classical music experience.
February 13th – Romantic vibes, songs of love, Mozart to Berstein
March 12th – The Romantic period, ensemble music from Dvorak & Schuman
